Group Rides (members only):
On joining LBOYB, each cyclist is allocated to a group based on her cycle skill level and endurance so as not to be neither bored nor intimidated. She then will be able to enjoy social, as well as organised bike rides with women of similar riding standard.
In this way, you will not only make progress with your cycling skills but meet other incredible women along the way.
LBOYB therefore, through the standards/levels, caters for group rides for both the confident rider and the non confident rider.
1. Road rides
- We provide road riding in 3 distinct levels, based on pace and skill level
- Vary from 2 hours to 8 hours, depending on the level of the group and assumed endurance within the specified group.
- Occasionally the road rides, may include lunch-cafe or picnic style. They pretty well always include a cuppa at the end or during the ride, depending on the group.
- Cycle on roads in and around Melbourne and in country Victoria
- Are of 4-16 women of similar standard (3 standards)
- If car transport is offered in either of the 2 LBOYB vehicles, to get to and from the start of the ride (eg., for country day trips) this would include for ladies and their bike with back up support included as well, especially for rides of longer duration or distance from Melbourne.
- Are conducted and led by either a LBOYB leader otherwise on a social basis by a LBOYB member.
- Meeting points vary according to the ride route, although the Brighton Bathing Boxes carpark, is the ‘home’ location.
- If LBOYB leader led, the cost is $20 or $35 depending on duration and transportation.
- Rides arranged and led by a member are free.
- Special events, overnight trips, weekends away and overseas cycling trips are also offered to our members.
