Path 2 Road & Path 2 Road Plus (P2R+), Clubs

‘Path 2 Road’ club

In many cases, women who joined LBOYB began by brushing the cobwebs off their bike. Now that they’ve taken a few classes and joined in the social, breeze and Melbourne Path rides – they are wanting more!
Path 2 Road:
  • Is fortnightly, alternating Saturday’s and Sunday’s for 6 months.
  • Approx 9-10 sessions plus access to weekends away.
  • Has 2 intakes, February and July for a 5-6 month period.
  • Is designed  to offer those who wish to extend themselves, to learn road cycling skills, so as to cycle on the road with greater confidence and hence with greater safety.
The rides will mainly be on Beach Road on either a Saturday or Sunday, which is when the parking restrictions on cars are in force. In Bayside, Beach Road,  is  free of parked cars, from 6am-10am on both Saturday’s and Sunday’s. Other venues will include the Boulevard in Kew and an occasional cycle in the countryside.
In Path 2 Road we will teach the following skills:
Riding safely in pairs, gear changing, climbing hills, riding out of the seat, cadence, cycling in cleats (optional), descending hills, rotating the leader, looking over your shoulder, riding a paceline and cornering.

The groups will be a maximum of 12 riders, preferably 8 riders,  per accredited coach. Maximum 3 groups on any event/session.
As a Bell, Saddle or as of 2017 a Wheelie member,  you are eligible to join Path 2 Road:
As a member of Path 2 Road, you can:
