Path 2 Road accomplishes their goal. Melb -Portsea return over 2 days

Path 2 Road Group,  was a group formed  from interested members of the top Group Bells, who wished to learn to cycle safely on the road.

With regular cycling on alternate Saturday mornings on Beach Road or the Boulevard in Kew, the group not only learnt a few tips on safe road cycling but also built up their endurance and speed.

On November 15-16th the group, cycled Melbourne to Portsea and return, with a lovely stay overnight in Blairgowrie.

The first leg of the ride, was along Beach rd, to a gallery in Mornington, where we viewed many of the paintings exhibited in the 2014  Archibald prize comp. Thankfully we agreed with the winning choice!

We continued on down to Portsea, of course stopping for a lesiurely lunch in Mornington, followed by a stop at the Safety Beach Italian deli and finally at the Portsea pub for a celebratory drink!

In the evening we laughed away any aches and pains and ate and drank ready for the return on Sunday.

The noise of the rain on the roof on Saturday night, made it look like an almost impossible ride for Sunday! Reports of Melbourne hit by worst storms in /// years, etc.

We rode in almost perfect weather through some hilly countryside venturing to a winery for lunch in Red Hill!

Tired yet thrilled with the accomplishment the Ladies arrived back in Brighton very pleased with themselves and rightly so!

Now for a goal for these women for 2015!

They will no doubt progress to a new group to be born, called ‘Roadies’.
